On December 8th, 2015 in the framework of the project "Public Lectures on Foreign Policy Priorities and National Security Challenges of Georgia" the Levan Mikeladze Foundation launched the Public lecture: "Georgia-Russian Relations". The lecture took place at Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre, MFA. The lecture was led by Mr.Zurab Abashidze, Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Russian Issues. He talked about the relations between Russia and Georgia, the importance of informal dialogue between the two countries, its results and expectations. The discussion also referred to ongoing regional geopolitical processes, in which Rusia is involved, and what importance they might have on Georgia. The audience asked many questions and the interesting discussion took place.

The aim of this project is to support the high education institutions and universities to enrich their curriculum of international studies with the public lectures on Foreign Policy Priorities and National Security Challenges of Georgia. The project is implemented with the support of Levan Mikeladze Foundation For Caucasus Studies, USA.

The lecture was led by Mr.Levan Dolidze, the ex-Ambassador of Georgia to NATO and First Deputy Defense Minister of Georgia, currently the director of "Georgian Center for Security and Development". He talked about the long path which Georgia went through between Georgia-NATO relations, current threats and future perspectives. The audience asked many questions and the interesting discussion took place.

LMF has elaborated the project ‘Support for Student-Centered Higher Education’, in cooperation with Open Society Georgia Foundation. The project was successdully funded with $19.797 from Open Society Georgia Foundation’s side, while the contribution of LMF to the development of the project was $7.070. Within the framework of the project the foreign, advanced experience in the field of educational system was researched and analyzed.The goal of the project was to improve and increase students’ opportunities for participation in Georgian Universities, particularly in the sphere of administration and educational processes.

On October 29th, Levan Mikeladze Foundation arranged the discussion "South Caucasus and New Geopolitical Environment". The participants of the discussion were representatives of govermental sector, Diplomatic corps and heads of civil society organizations. The topics of the discussion were ongoing transport and energy projects in South Caucasus and their importance for the region. The discussion was led by Mamuka Tsereteli (Board member of LMF), the Hon. S. Enders Wimbush (Advisory Board member of LMF) and Giorgi Vashakmadze ( Director of W-Stream Caspian). The discussion was moderated by Irakli Menagharishvili (co-chair of LMF).

May 15, 2015 Levan Mikeladze Foundation for Caucasus Studies and The Brookings Institution hosted a conference titled “Georgia in the New Security Environment” in Washington, DC. The roundtable discussions were attended by noted Georgia and Caucasus experts, former US Ambassadors to Georgia, The Ambassador of Georgia to the US, International donor organization representatives, private sector leaders and guests from Georgia. Concluding remarks were delivered by Mr. Eric Rubin, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State.

In 2014 Natia Ghvinjilia graduated from University of Wales Trinity Saint David and gained the MBA with merit in project management. She researched and wrote the thesis on: ‘Suitability Framework of EU projects in Georgia”. In 2001 she earned the Master of Arts in English language at Tbilisi Illia Chavchavadze University of Languages and Culture.

 

She has over 7 years experience in working at international organizations and in management of EU projects. During her engagement in EU Twinning projects she acted as a liaison with the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia and national institutions at the central and local level;

 

Natia joined LMF 2016-2017, as a project coordinator. Her duties and responsibilities included arrangement of informational workshops, rountable discussions and public awareness campaigns on EU and EU core values; Ensuring good partnership with the agencies working on religious and ethnical minorities, government institutions, bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors, private sector, civil society etc; Promoting due information and communication flows for all stakeholders, encourage networking and experience sharing between Project stakeholders and target groups;

 

She is fluent in English, German and Russian languages.

Mariam graduated with honors from the Empire State College/University of New York in Prague with the Bachelor’s dual degree in International and Economic Relations. Throughout her studies, she has done a number of research papers referring to international conflicts and security, modern diplomacy and political systems. She defended her thesis on the “Legality of Humanitarian Intervention: International Law and Moral Justifications.” At the university, she had been an active member of Student Council serving as a Secretary and a Treasurer. In 2014, she completed two-months internship at "Tbilisi Business Consulting Center", where she provided technical assistance to various local and international projects. 

 

 

 

Mariam has joined the LMF 2015-2018 as project coordinator. Her duties and responsibilities included; planning and organizing project activities, writing meeting and progress reports, communication with donors, experts, project participants and government institutions. She also administered project websites. 

 

Mariam speaks Georgian, English, Russian and German (basic) languages.

Tamar received her bachelor's degree in International Relations and European Studies from Lazarski University in Warsaw in 2012-15.
She also received a bachelor's degree in the same field from the University of Coventry, UK and defended his bachelor's thesis on
current issues of Russian-Georgian relations.
After graduating from university, Tamar worked as a "British Council in Georgia" Customer Service and
Project Assistant, where she was involved in various activities and activities of the organization. She also studied Master's degree in Public Policy at the Institute of Public Affairs and graduated the university (GIPA).
Tamar holds a bilingual certificate in an international undergraduate program accredited by Switzerland.
She is the winner of the EU-funded Erasmus + project.
Tamar (Tati) worked as a project coordinator at the Levan Mikeladze Foundation in 2015-2019.
Her responsibilities included planning, organizing and implementing project activities in the regions (Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti);
Prepare reports, communicate and coordinate with the donor organizations;
Involvement in the process of preparation of various activities and resolution of administrative issues;
Effective communication / coordination with partner organizations, government agencies, embassies and stakeholders;
Planning activities in the regions, effective cooperation with target groups and involvement of different sectors in the successful
implementation of the project;
Tamar (Tati) speaks fluent English, French, and Russian languages.
