<yandex:full-text><p><span style="font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt;">The Levan Mikeladze Award ceremony will take place in Frontline Georgia Club on June 9, at 19:00. During the ceremony two best papers will be presented and the laureates will be awarded certificates. &nbsp;</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">To identify the winners, a contest was held </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">in which 10 students majoring in human geography and international relations took part. Two laureates will receive the prize and certificate, while the papers complying with the pre-designed academic criteria will be published on the Levan Mikeladze Foundation website.</span></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt;">The Levan Mikeladze Award was established in 2013. Until today, 11 prominent students hold the laureate title.</span></p></yandex:full-text>

The first discussion reviewed challenges that the EU faces while contemplating enlargement scenarios. <yandex:full-text><p>Considering the upcoming local government elections in October 2017,&nbsp;EWMI ACCESS announced the&nbsp;<strong>Citizen Outreach Grants Program&nbsp;</strong>for Georgian Civil Society Organizations (CSO). The program was focused on bringing women voters&rsquo; needs to the attention of political parties and election candidates, and contributing to the formation of a female voter constituency.</p> <p>In total 35 project proposals were submitted under this call, out of which 5 projects were selected for funding. The Levan Mikeladze Foundation was among them.&nbsp;</p> <p>The goal of this project is to support women voters in Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki and Marneuli municipalities to form a female constituency in the run of to the regional elections in fall 2017 and empower them to become active citizens.The project will pay particular attention to the ethnic-minority women.</p></yandex:full-text>

The meeting was attended by Ramin Igidov, Sheikh of all Georgia and head of the administration of Muslims of Georgia, Iasin Aliev - Mufti of the East Georgia, Muslim religious leaders and elders of the Kakheti region.&nbsp;</p> <p>During the meeting the invited project experts: KetevanAbashidze (Adjunct Professor at Ilia State University and Free University Tbilisi, European human rights Law and EU law), and Mikheil Mirziashvili (Chairman of the Board&nbsp;and Board Member of Center For Development and Democracy) made the presentations.</p> <p>The workshop discussed the essence and the benefits of the Association Agreement with EU, rights of religious minorities in EU and Georgia, the European models of relationship between religion and state and the challenges of secularism in Georgia and EU.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Since May 15, 2017, the Levan Mikeladze Foundation implements the project &ldquo;Train the Messenger &rdquo; with financial support of Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p></yandex:full-text>

<yandex:full-text><p>On June 9<sup>th</sup>, 2017 in the framework of the project &ldquo;Train the Messenger &rdquo; the Levan Mikeladze Foundation held &nbsp;&nbsp;a workshop for religious minorities leaders of Samtskhe-Javakheti region in &ldquo;Hotel &nbsp;Gino Wellness Rabati&rdquo;, Akhaltsikhe.</p> <p>The meeting was attended by the Latin and Armenian Catholic religious leaders, from Samtskhe-Javakheti region, as well as by the orthodox priests of Armenian Apostolic church and their parishes.</p> <p>At the meeting the invited project experts: Oliver Reisner (Jean Monnet Professor of European and Caucasian Studies at Ilia State University), Ketevan Abashidze (Adjunct Professor at Ilia State University and Free University Tbilisi, European human rights Law and EU law), and Mikheil Mirziashvili- (Chairman of the Board, the Center for Development and Democracy) made presentations.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The workshop discussed the following topics: EU institutions and rules and procedures of Visa Free Travel. Challenges of religious buildings and education. The participants also got acquainted with European models of relationship between religion and state.&nbsp; The workshop was conducted in Russian language.</p> <p>Since May 15, 2017, the LevanMikeladze Foundation implements the project &ldquo;Train the Messenger "&rdquo; with financial support of Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.The goal of the project is to promote integration of minorities and develop capacities of religious leaders to fight discrimination and stigmatization via educating about Human Rights and international Human Rights Institutions</p></yandex:full-text>
