Closing Conference of the Project "Towards Unlocking Georgia's EU Perspective"

On December 13, 2018, Levan Mikeladze Foundation held a conference "Towards Unlocking Georgia’s EU Perspective" at Tbilisi Marriott hotel.

Executive director of Levan Mikeladze Foundation - Archil Gegeshidze, Executive Director of Open Society Georgia - Keti Khutsishvili and Director of Friedrich Ebert Foundation - South Caucasus - Felix Hett greeted the audience with a welcoming speech.

Within the framework of the project 5 workshops were held in Tbilisi, where the invited foreign experts (from Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Montenegro, Serbia) took part: Gergely Romsics, Associate Research Fellow in Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Vit Dostal, Research Director of Association for International Affairs, Vladimir Bilcik, Head of the European Studies Program of Slovak Foreign Policy Association, Adam Reichardt, Editor-in-Chief of “New Eastern Europe”, Maja Bobic, Vice-President of European Movement in Serbia, Momčilo Radulovic, President of European Movement in Montenegro.

The aim of the conference was to summarize the process of studying the experience of EU member states and to share this experience with Georgia. Each expert came out with a speech and answered the questions of the audience.

At the conference, Archil Gegeshidze presented his policy document: “European Perspectives of Georgia: How to bring closer the future”.

At the concluding event, within the framework of the project a publication of a book was announced, both in Georgian and English languages, where experts’ works are collected.

The conference was attended by stakeholders, as well as the representatives of the Parliament of Georgia, government, civil society, diplomatic corps and international organizations.

The project was funded by the International Visegrad Fund, The Friedrich Ebert Foundation– Georgia and Open Society – Georgia Foundation.
