"Train the messenger- EU, Human Rights and Family Values"

On July 12th, in the framework of the Project "Train the messenger- EU, Human Rights and Family Values" Levan Mikeladze Foundation held the working group meeting with Kvemo Kartli Muslim religious leaders. The meeting took place at conference room of Hotel "Ambassador" in Tbilisi. Before the discussion, Ekaterine Baramidze (Program Development Director), Ramin Igidov (Sheikh of all Georgia and head of the administration of Muslims of Georgia) and Aivas Mardanova (plenipotentiary representative of the spiritual administration of the Muslims of the Caucasus in Georgia) made the welcoming speeches.

 

During the meeting the invited experts made their presentations: Oliver Reisner (Jean Monnet Professor of European and Caucasian Studies at Ilia State University), Vano Chkhikvadze (EU Integration Programme Manager at Open Society Georgia Foundation (OSGF), Vakhushti Menabde  (Associate Professor Law Major at Ilia State University) and Irakli Tabliashvili (Media Expert). The discussion was dedicated to Religious Freedom, the challenges of Secularism, EU Religious models, and EU-Georgia relations.  The project was implemented with the financial support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia.
