‘The Silk Road Economic Belt and its Implications for the South Caucasus’

On May 19, 2017 The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung South Caucasus Regional Office and the Levan Mikeladze Foundation organized an expert discussion entitled: ‘The Silk Road Economic Belt and its Implications for the South Caucasus’. The workshop was moderated by Mr.Felix Hett, the Director of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung South Caucasus, and Mr.Archil Gegeshidze, the Executive Director of The Levan Mikeladze Foundation.

The discussion included the presentation of the research prepared by Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), which referred to ‘Silk Road Economic Belt’.

The meeting was attended by the local and foreign experts, who discussed the importance of the Silk Road Economic Belt for the region and its security, the challenges/perspectives for the South Caucasus and the implications of The Silk Road Economic Belt for the geopolitical dimension.

The discussion was held in English Language.
