March 25th, 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of restoration of the diplomatic relations between Austria and Georgia. Throughout this period, relations between the two countries developed on an ascending line and thus today they share a rather rich agenda of cooperation.
Today, Austria and Georgia are important, active partners in bilateral, as well as in multilateral formats. In the development of these relations, the diplomatic missions of the two countries located in Vienna and in Tbilisi make a significant contribution.
Levan Mikeladze Foundation is proud to note, that the well-known Georgian diplomat and public figure Levan Miekaldze was at the roots of modern relations between the two countries, as he served as the first ambassador extraordinary and plenipontentiray to Austria. Since then, a galaxy of Georgian diplomats has continued his deeds with dignity.
A close friend and colleague of Levan Mikeladze, Konstantine Zaldastanishvili, who currently serves as Georgia’s ambassador to Austria, has recently commented on the anniversary of Georgian-Austrian relations :
